My unusual spherical artist books, with their round pages supported by a central stem, are a testament to the intertwined beauty of organic forms and the tactile legacy of handmade objects. My ancestors were a masters of many crafts – quilting, knitting, ceramics, woodworking, and basket weaving. Their hands, always in motion, creating beauty and utility from simple materials, have profoundly influenced my artistic journey. The spherical shape of these books echoes the roundness of a quilted patch, the loops of knitting, the curves of a ceramic bowl, and the woven structure of a basket.
